Here at Practical Selling, one of our basic rules is "90:10", so we don't expect you to browse around the whole site.

For many small businesses, selling your products and services is the greatest challenge. You may have a great product range, nice premises - and I'm sure you're nice people - but what about selling?

Many people think that great products sell themselves, others subscribe to the "if you build it they will come" school of passive marketing - but most small businesses quickly realise that nothing moves off the shelf or gets booked in the work log if you don't actually sell it. Even as you start to grow - employing other people to sell on your behalf is a big step and you will want to be sure you have a firm grasp of what selling is when you start to be a sales manager.

The internet has introduced new routes to market and channels of communication to small businesses and their owners - but the challenge of actually "selling" - the single most importnat aspect of your business - remains.
