Your Own Private Label Version

Firstly - let me be very clear about one thing:

The primary purpose of "Practical DotCom Business" is to help ordinary people make successful single-subject web sites that generate an income.

The only reason I can afford to spend time writing, revising, supporting and promoting the manual is because I am affiliated to some of the products and services described here - so if you buy them (sometimes even if you try them) I get paid a commission. I don't identify which things I get paid for and which I don't - because it doesn't make any difference to their inclusion here. My philsophy is to first choose the right product or service to include - if it has an affiliate program, then great. If not - it doesn't prevent it being included.

But there's only so much I can do to spread the word, so I have come up with a mechanism that will give you a benefit if you promote and distribute this manual.

The "Private Label" system operates on 3 (imaginatively titled) levels:

Bronze Level

Silver Level

Gold Level

This is suitable for most people who read and use PDCB - you don't need my permission or co-operation to do it! It gives you a version of the e-book that includes your message and URL (web link) in the right side box at the foot of every page.

No matter what your site is about - you will get visitors who are interested in setting up their own sites, so you can offer your branded version of the e-book as a gift, or as a thank-you for an action such as signing up for your newsletter.

The key thing is that your message and URL are then on every page they see - and in every copy they pass on to friends, colleagues, or visitors to their site.

How to Get a Bronze Level Version

Fill in the form below and I'll email you the URL of the page at my site where you get the (free) software you need to add your brand to the e-book. I'm only asking for your email address so I can send advance warning of things like new updates to everyone who has created Bronze Level versions. You will also be invited to join the general PDCB users mailing list (if you're not on it already), but you can remove yourself from that at any time - and I won't give, sell or loan your address to anyone else.

When you run the E-Brander software (sorry - it's a PC application only) and load in the PDCB e-book, you will see 3 fields that you can edit:

Site_URL: This is where you put the full URL (including the http://) of the page you want to link to - this might be your home page or something you create just for PDCB'ers to land on.

Site_text: This is the text that will appear for your URL link - this could be the same as Site_URL, but would more usually be the name of your site.

Message: Here you can put a line of text that will appear under your URL. Please keep it short and sweet - your slogan, your USP, or a key reason for someone to visit your site.

This is suitable only for people with a sizeable mailing list, e-zine, a high traffic site or some other means to distribute PDCB on a wider scale. It gives you a version of the e-book that includes your message and URL (web link) permanently in the left side box at the foot of every page - and allows your visitors to put their message and URL in the right side box (so they too are incentivised to distribute your version).

How to Get a Silver Level Version

Firstly, email me at stewart@practicalselling.com with:

1. Your proposal: How you would plan to distribute/promote your branded version of the e-book, some idea of your traffic, mailing list etc.
2. Site_URL: Where you would like your version linked to.
3. Site_text: The text to appear for your URL link.
4. Message: The line of text that will "sell" your site and get the click.

If I think it's going to work for us both, I'll produce a version that:

• Contains your URL and message in the left side box of every page - which cannot be edited out by the E-Brander software.
• Allows your visitors to customise the right side box of every page - like on a Bronze Level version
• Contains a unique 4 digit code (mine is "0000") in the "version check" link at the foot of every page to ensure that anyone visiting that page from one of "your" e-books will always get the latest version with your branding in place.
  (Note - I reserve the right not to produce updated e-books in the future for Silver Level versions that are not being actively distributed).

... and I'll email you the URL for your Private Label version.

This is suitable only for people who have (or are willing to set up) a sub-affiliate relationship with me (in either direction) for at least some key PDCB-related products. It gives you a version of the e-book that includes your affiliate links for key programs in the body of the text - as well as your message and URL (web link) permanently in the left side box at the foot of every page - and allows your visitors to put their message and URL in the right side box (so they too are incentivised to distribute your version).

I don't want to encourage more people to start out in the already crowded internet marketing field, so this is probably only going to be appropriate for my existing sub-affiliates, or those who are taking their first steps into affiliate based selling.

An ideal Gold Level partner (for me) is someone who has joined all the 2-tier affiliate programs below - from my links, and therefore is my sub-affiliate:

If you want to become an affiliate for any of these programs, the surest way of making sure you do it as my sub-affiliate, is by joining direct from the "join here" links below. Be aware however, that there are many different tracking systems in use by different affiliate programs, and you may already be linked with someone else when you join.

You don't have to join all these programs if they're not appropriate to you - I'll leave my affiliate links in place for those that you're not involved with.

The list is roughly in order of importance (most important at top), so if you are very committed to some programs but have already joined as someone else's sub-affiliate, I will consider (and negotiate !) creating a Gold Level version that includes your affiliate links for those programs - as long as they are towards the bottom of the list =:>

How to Get a Gold Level Version

Email me at stewart@practicalselling.com with:

1. Your affiliate IDs: For the programs that you have joined (see list above) - and the email address(es) you have used if different from the address you are sending from.
2. Site_URL: Where you would like your version linked to.
3. Site_text: The text to appear for your URL link.
4. Message: The line of text that will "sell" your site and get the click.

I will double check which programs you are my sub-affiliate for and email you with my proposal for your Gold Level version, to include:

• All appropriate links with your affiliate IDs as my sub-affiliate.
• OR
• Some links with your affiliate IDs as my sub-affiliate, others retaining my affiliate IDs.

If you accept that proposal, I'll produce a version that:

• Links to your affiliate IDs where appropriate.
• Contains your URL and message in the left side box of every page - which cannot be edited out by the E-Brander software.
• Allows your visitors to customise the right side box of every page - like on a Bronze Level version
