How to Use

Getting Around

Viewing on screen

You will have noticed that this e-book is appearing in a familiar web browser type window - so I won't spend a lot of time telling you how to use it.

Although the guide will have started up full screen, you can adjust the window size to suit your monitor.

Everything relating to the content of the manual (including the graphics within it) is contained in the file you downloaded. So you should be able to view the whole e-book without being connected to the internet - until you click on a hyperlink (see below) or fill in and submit a form.

Printing

If you would rather read the guide on paper - you can do that too. Unfortunately, you do have to print each section individually.

Navigation

You can move around the guide using a combination of:

  • Back and Forward buttons on the toolbar. These move you between pages you have viewed.
  • Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of each page. These move you between pages in their designed order.
  • Contents page linked at the bottom of each page. this shows titles and subheadings for each section.

HyperLinks - that connect you to sites on the internet - look like this. If you are connected to the internet, clicking on one of these links will open your browser and take you to the site.
If a link doesn't work, please check you have latest version of this guide (see "Latest Version").

If a link still doesn't work - please let me know so I can update for the next version. Email feedback@practicalselling.com.

Links, Suggestions & Recommendations

Throughout the guide, I have included hot links to resources on the internet that will help you achieve your objective. Many of these are free, others will require an investment if you want to take your business on to another level.

I am happy to acknowledge that these are rarely the only way to do something, or the only people who provide a product or service.
Some of them are simply links to sites I am aware of that can help you.

Most of them however are practical suggestions that I suggest you actively investigate. They are - to the best of my knowledge and experience (see disclaimer below) - reputable organisations who provide excellent services. Often they are fantastic companies that provide brilliant services. They will always be among the best - if not the very best - in their category.

If you are willing to spend long enough looking around, you might be able to find something cheaper, faster, easier (the internet changes every day) but you can be very confident that you won't go wrong by using the links supplied here.

Some products and services carry the extra weight of my recommendation. I don't recommend anything lightly - so if I use the "R" word in relation to something, it usually means that I use it myself, know it inside out, and it is THE best of breed.

If there is anything you think should be included in a future revision of the guide, please let me know at stewart@practicalselling.com.

DO Pass It On

Please do pass this guide on to anyone else you think will benefit.

You may not make a charge for the guide, but you should certainly consider if there are other ways you could use it profitably:

  • A free gift to subscribers to your mailing list.
  • Added content for your site.
  • A reason to visit your site.
  • Bundled with other offerings from your site.

See later in the book for ways to create your own Private Label version.

If you have any creative ideas for using the guide - please let me know at stewart@practicalselling.com.

DON'T Pass It Off

The only thing I ask is that you keep the file intact and DO NOT make any attempt to pass it off as your own work.

Feedback

I always love to get feedback - of any kind (honest!) - on this guide, and it is really useful for future versions.

Please let me know how it worked for you - and if it didn't.

  • Do you need more detailed step by step instructions?
  • Would you like to see something more technical?
  • Was there stuff I didn't explain well?
  • What could I do to improve it?

Please email me at feedback@practicalselling.com.

Latest Version

This guide isn't finished - and probably never will be.

No - that doesn't mean you have some flaky pre-release version ...

... it's simply an acknowledgement that things change quickly on the internet and new ideas, services and ways of working are emerging every day.

Practical DotCom Business will keep up to date with those developments, and they will be incorporated into future versions.

If you have received this guide from someone else - that is, you didn't get it direct from a Practical DotCom Business or Practical Selling web site - it may be a little out of date.

The version number for this copy is at the bottom of every page - please make sure you have the most up to date version by checking with the link there.

The latest version will always incorporate other users' feedback and will have the latest available information.
